Feburary 22, 2008Simply stated, art is stuff people make. You can layer on theory and hype, add titles, give it awards, or call it priceless, but it all boils down to the same thing – its stuff about stuff. Robin Williams: After Birth (through March 16) explores the themes of venerability and socialization and features skillfully painted children with slightly enlarged heads set in spare, disproportioned environments and Nathan Lewis: The Blessed Isles (through March 16) uses art historical references tinged with humor to bring the past to life and give current issues the gravity of experience.
